Privacy
The short version: we keep an email address if you give us one. We count how often pages are opened. We never know who you are.
What we collect
If you subscribe to The Brief: your email address, and the discipline and region you pick. That is all we store, and we use it for one thing — sending you the weekly email you asked for.
If you post a job: your email address and the details of the role, because we need a way to reply to you and something to publish.
If you just read the site: no account, no advertising network, no profile, and nothing that identifies you.
We do keep one thing: a tally. When a listing, company or discipline page is opened, and when someone searches, filters or saves a role, we add one to a counter. A row in that table is four things — the date, what happened, which page, and how many times. There is no visitor in it, no session, no device and no address, so two people reading the same page and one person reading it twice are the same row to us. We use it to see which disciplines people actually want, and nothing else.
We do not log your IP address against anything you submit. We hold it in memory for a few minutes to stop one machine flooding the forms, and it is never written down.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data, rent it, or pass it to recruiters. We don’t collect CVs — applications go straight to the employer, and we never sit between you and them.
Roles you save are kept in your own browser, not on our servers. Clear your browser data and they are gone; we never had them.
Leaving
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and every issue carries a link to change what you receive. Unsubscribing removes you from the send list immediately.
You can ask us to delete your record entirely by emailing hello@mkthive.com. We’ll do it and confirm, without asking why.
Cookies
We don’t set any — which is why you have never seen a banner here. The site uses your browser’s local storage for two conveniences — the roles you save and your last filters — which never leave your device.
There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording and no third-party script of any kind. The counter described above runs on our own server.
Listings
Job listings are gathered from the public job boards companies publish themselves, or submitted directly by employers. If you are a company and want your roles removed, email us and it is done within 24 hours — no form, no argument.
Where your details sit
On one machine, in one file. Subscriber addresses and employer enquiries are never uploaded to the host that serves this site — the pages you are reading were built in advance and carry no database with them.
